A journey in woodworking

Up for a challenge...

I've realised over time that I do quite like a challenge. I don't think it was intentional, but I've noticed in my work that I'll have take one of my ideas and push it.  More recent challenges have been to carve a mobius strip (a one sided mathematical shape), a spoon with a double helix handle, a butter spreader, and then a tinier mobius strip out of the piece that came out of the middle of the first one!
It got me thinking, as things tend to do (my mind is a very busy place) and I noticed a pattern that I just don't like to be defeated by things, along with wanting to improve my skills in a given craft. Life has tended to be a challenge on a number of levels, particularly with loss and chronic, debilitating pain, but at the same time, I've developed a drive not to be beaten... probably a good thing.
